For every New Year, we are filled with mixed feelings about how the year will pan out. For some people, the best way will be to write down their new year resolutions which will guide them throughout the year but for me, I would deliberate on a theme and use it as a guide for the year.

My previous years have been “Fierce Faith”, “Owning My Happiness” and “Faith Over Fear”. I came to this decision a few years back because I realized that I was unable to check all my new year resolutions at the end of the year and there were those that I keep repeating each year and never get them done. This gets to me and I begin to feel unaccomplished.

So, I am continuing the tradition of a theme this year, and I have chosen “Embracing Change”. Change is inevitable, it’s part of life and something we can’t do much about. When there is change, we find it difficult to live with it, we shy away from it or live in denial about it. Change is part of growth. The earlier we embrace it and live with it, the better we will find ways to deal with it.

This year, I have set out to embrace any change that may come my way. In my personal and professional life, I want to be a change agent and embrace the things that will come with it. This also includes going out of my way to do new things and adopt new behaviors and lifestyle.

A lot has happened to me in the last decade. More like a 360 life turnaround but that said, I am more than ready to embrace the next 10 years and live the best out of it.

So, cheers to another decade
